THE QUALITY OF OUR PROVISION
We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage statutory guidance. We have a continual cycle of observation and assessment. We implement In The Moment Planning, working alongside the children to extend and enhance their education, based around what the children's interests and needs are.
The children attend the setting happily, are confident, ask questions, make comments and adapt activities, spending extended periods of time at activities of their choosing. They take risks and explore their environment. Observations and photographs of our children show that they are enjoying the activities and resources on offer and that they are readily used.
We use our observations to plot each child's progress towards the early learning goals. We use an online learning journal, which enables us to share observations and photos with parents and carers.
Staff support the children’s learning by providing a flexible approach, following the children's lead and allowing them to be independent and to make choices. Evidence of the progress achieved is relevant in the children’s learning journeys.
We provide life experiences for the children in the form of role play, tidying up activities, food activities, gardening etc and we feel that the children we glean life long skills and habits from these activities. We observe the children being motivated and interested to learn, reaching and exceeding learning intentions and using their communication skills with peers and staff.
Our setting promotes the well being of every child. We operate a family worker system and the family worker maintains their key children's learning journeys, to liaise with parents and carers and to plan, observe and evaluate for their individual children so as to best decide how to progress them through to the early learning goals.
